Title: Traffic Safety Citizenship: It’s Up to All of Us Summary: During the June 23rd program meeting, we will engage in an interactive presentation and discussion time with Carol Lucio of Butler County Safe Communities. Traffic Safety Citizenship is less about focusing on the bad behaviors of the few (which affect us all) and more on engaging the greater for better safety of the whole. Each of us is a member of the roadway transportation community because we depend on the shared system to connect us with people, places, goods, and services. For this system to meet everyone’s needs and be sustained, we have an obligation to one another to act in ways that support the system. Committing to avoiding risk might look like choosing not to engage in potentially risky behaviors (like talking on a cell phone — even hands free) even though such a behavior is not explicitly in violation of current law. What commitments to traffic safety have you made/seen? How might we engage others to keep our roads safer? Let’s explore. Watch for Zoom connection information in an e-mail a day or two before the program. June program meeting
